{About Me}
Writer. Photographer. Lover of cats.
Originally from Woodstock, Ontario, I first studied Broadcast Journalism at Mohawk College {2003} where I took my first job at a small radio station in Simcoe, Ontario, CD 98.9 . I learned the tricks of the trade, interviewed some politicians and even rode in a tractor trailer blockade during tobacco buyout negotiations. After years travelling from small town station to small town station I decided to enter the world of communications.
Making the decision to go back to college was a hard one but well worth it. I graduated with honors in April 2017 with a post-graduate certificate in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Fanshawe College. During my time at Fanshawe, I have been supported by my amazing mentor, Rachael Courtemanche, through the Larry Myny mentorship program, my encouraging instructors and my intelligent, inspiring classmates. I completed my field placement in the Alumni and Advancement Office at Fanshawe College.
I was recently hired as a Relations Assistant at the Alumni and Advancement Office at Fanshawe College where I do everything from social media management, newsletter articles and graphic design work. I am also happy to continue to be a part of the Larry Myny Mentorship program as a mentor and a program coordinator.
